A mountain removed

Ann Voskamp
So it came.  And then went. Christmas.  The time of wonder and of dread.  A year filled with angst and pain.  The day loomed like a granite mountain against the snow-leaden sky.  Tears fell as pain lanced the heart.

No carols rang in the house as the tree was decked and then laid bare.

Yet in the darkest night the star shone so bright.  Emmanuel.  God with us.  God with ME.

God took my broken heart and gave me His own so that I could still keep breathing in this place of wounded doubt.

His love, unstoppable, inexplicable, flickers as I look into the New Year.  This is how the fragile heart is made strong.

And the mountain is removed.
