“When we make room for silence we make room for ourselves … Silence invites the unknown, the untamed, the wild, the shy, the unfathomable – that which rarely has a chance to surface within us.”
Gunilla Norris, Sharing Silence
When I'm feeling anxious, my instinct is to retreat alone. At times that is good and needful. But it is so easy to become insulated and isolated. Sometimes I need to make a commitment towards community. To reach out deliberately making time for others.
Time has a way of slipping through our fingers like sand silently dropping in the hour glass marking the passing of each day.
We need to still the hands and close our eyes in order to feel. To feel the truth that we have nothing to offer alone.
We need Him.
We need each other.
It is in the quietness of our spirit that our lives begin to realign once again with conviction, intention, purpose and focus.
Once received we then go out from the silence knowing that He is simply with us in love and from there we step out touching others with our heart, and His.
